Prince Waldemar Stephen of Schaumburg-Lippe (Waldemar Stephan Ferdinand Wolrad Friedrich Karl Fürst zu Schaumburg-Lippe-Nachod, b. 19 December 1940 in Glienicke) is the son of His Highness Prince Christian of Schaumburg-Lippe and Her Royal Highness Princess Feodora of Denmark, and the great-grandson of Frederick VIII of Denmark.
He married H.H. Pincess Anne-Lise on 10 September 1977, H.M. Queen Margrethe’s court photographer, although they subsequently divorced. They had one child:
HH Princess Eleonore-Christine Eugenie Benita Feodora Maria of Schaumburg-Lippe (born 22 December 1978 at Hørsholm, Denmark)
Prince Waldemar married Karin Grundmann in 2001 (divorce 2002). And in 2002 he married Ruth Schneidewind (divorce 2003)
Prince Waldemar the head of the princely family married the austrian grand industrials daughter and politician Gertraud-Antonia Wagner-Schöppl on 20 September 2008. He adopted his wife’s son and his stepson, His Highness Dr. Prince Mario-Max:
Mario Max Prince Antonius Adolf Albert Eduard Oliver Gertraud Edith Helga Magdalena Prinz zu Schaumburg-Lippe[1] (born at Salzburg, Austria, German Citizen). He appeared on the Millionaire Matchmaker in 2011, abbreviated as Prince Max.
His Highness Prince and Fürst Waldemar, son HH Prince Mario-Max, related to the Danish Royal Family, under Danish law. He is also in line of succession to the British throne, being descended from George II of the United Kingdom, through his daughter Queen Louisa of Denmark and Norway.
Prince Waldemar bears the title of “Fürst zu Schaumburg-Lippe-Nachod”, “Fürst” being a German title usually reserved for heads of princely families or within family names like the members of the Fürst von Hohenberg family or Fürst von Wied family. He bears the Name officially and also in his passport, and the name is used and publicised by the biggest mass media affiliates. The Nachod branch of the Schaumburg-Lippe family is ruled by Fürst Waldemar. Waldemar is the second-born of the Nachod branch, and has one elder brother Wilhelm (born 1939), one younger brother and a sister.
